The Department of Surveying and Mapping Engineering was established in September 2003. At present, it has four majors: engineering surveying technology, surveying and mapping geographic information technology, photogrammetry and remote sensing technology and UAV surveying and mapping。Engineering Surveying technology was identified as a provincial brand major in 2001。 
   The Department of Surveying and mapping Engineering has 22 staff members, of which 4 have a doctor's degree and 1 are studying for a doctor's degree。At present, there are 2 professors and 9 associate professors (associate researchers)。There are general surveying and mapping instrument room, precision surveying and mapping instrument room, surveying and mapping computer room, photogrammetry training center, and the total value of instruments and equipment is nearly 20 million yuan。
   The graduates of the Department of Surveying and mapping engineering have been recognized by the society and the industry for their practical characteristics of "being able to bear hardships, being quick, being able to go and staying"。In recent years, the initial employment rate of graduates has remained above 99%。(Data updated as of March 2022)
